Painting

When painting your home, consider the color choice with that of colors chosen within the community. Avoid bright and pastel colors and ideally choose a color that is different from your neighbors.

General guidelines

• Body color is not the same as your direct neighbors (either side of your house)

• Body color is not the same as the 3 houses directly across the street from yours.

• Body color is similar to a color already in the community except for those being discontinued.

• Satin or low sheen paints are recommended over flat paint for extra durability, but you should avoid semi-gloss finishes for the body of the home.

• Base and trim colors have adequate contrast.

• Avoid using bright primary colors for base and trim.

• Avoid pure/bright white for base.

• The recommended color for shutters is black.

• The recommended color for garage doors is the base color, trim color or white.

• Provide a preferred color choice as part of the submission. (body color and trim)

• Prior to requesting approval, please paint a sample of the paint next to the garage doors. If needed, we can then come out and review.

Note: All changes to the property must be submitted and approved by the Summer Ridge ACC. 

The ACC is monitored through community members, and will attempt to respond within 7 days, though the CC&Rs provide up to 30 days to respond. Any change done without the ACC approval can be requested to be removed at the owner’s expense.
